As a new century dawns, musicians of our contemporary church can express their faith in many new ways. Now, more than ever, there is a whole world of music to explore. It is, indeed, up to every generation to find its unique voice of praise. We who are involved in the Ministry of Music at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown, New Jersey, have fashioned this offering in a spirit of thanksgiving for all of the blessings of our lives. From the celebrative beat of African chants to the more introspective melodies of Scandinavia, from the melancholy of African-American spirituals to the golden peals of handbells, here is a selection of some of the many styles we have embraced in our worship and in concerts during the first years of the twenty-first century. The compositions on this CD, while encompassing many styles and media, are all united in our being a part of the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ.
